One of the most commendable aspects is the excellent purity and amount of information in the mid-high frequency of Beam 4, which is even comparable to the level of many flagship portable DAP. The high frequency of Beam 4 not only has outstanding dynamic performance compared to the small tail of the audio, but also surprisingly smooth and delicate, with a very strong transient response. Even when paired with some pure dynamic iron earplugs, under the driving of Beam 4, there is still no rough feeling, rich harmonics, and excellent control. In terms of mid-frequency, Beam 4 still maintains a neutral style, with relatively distant vocals and a larger spatial sound field. Overall, there is not too much compromise in terms of popular tuning. Therefore, it may not catch your ear at first listen, but it is very enjoyable when carefully appreciated. Although Audirect has always focused on tuning around ESS DAC, it can indeed be seen that each generation has made more or less progress and gives a very stable feeling, never flipping the car. Of course, if you use the T-1 energy storage cable, it will be slightly warmer than the standard cable of Beam 4, and the thickness of the vocals will be fuller, which will make it sound more pleasing. And to be honest, the current design of Beam 4 is indeed stunning. The metal matte shell will show different changes in light and shade when illuminated, coupled with a total of 5 bright red rectangular buttons on both sides, which immediately surpasses the appearance of previous Beam models.
