The combination of its powerful performance and elegant design makes the Genelec G Three a two-way active loudspeaker that excels at reproducing a wide frequency range with low coloration and high sound pressure levels. With active crossover and optimized independent amplifiers, the speakers achieve smooth transitions, minimal distortion, and high stability between the low and high-frequency units. The MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) design of the sleek and modern curved cabinet minimizes sound wave diffraction, resulting in pure and uncolored sound with improved imaging and overall resolution. The unique winding inverted tube design enhances low frequencies by optimizing airflow vibration, reducing turbulence noise, and providing clear, powerful, and textured bass. The DCW (Directivity Control Waveguide) design precisely controls the sound wave directionality by its smooth curvature around the tweeter, making the sound wider while reducing the room's acoustic coloration. Additionally, the speakers incorporate room acoustic response compensation technology, which was developed through extensive research and practical experimentation on indoor acoustics, ensuring that the speakers adapt to various real-life environments and maintain optimal performance. The speakers also feature multiple protection circuits and Intelligent Signal Sensing technology for overload protection, amplifier overheating protection, and circuit short-circuit protection, ensuring the safety and stability of the speakers with a long lifespan. They also have an intelligent standby mode that automatically switches to power-saving mode when no audio signal is detected for a period of time and resumes operation when a sound signal is received again. The power consumption in standby mode is less than 0.5W. The Iso-Pod isolation base prevents unnecessary vibration transmission, reducing sound coloration, and allowing flexible adjustment of the speaker's tilt angle, adapting to the best listening position. The G Three's input sensitivity can be adjusted by -10dB, allowing users to match it with preamp devices for optimal volume. The speakers also offer tone adjustments through switches on the back panel, including "Desktop Control," "High Frequency," "Low Frequency," and "Subwoofer." "Desktop Control" minimizes the adverse effects of sound reflection caused by placing the speakers on a desktop or similar surface, reducing sound coloration. The "High Frequency" adjustment allows users to attenuate high-frequency response by -2dB if they feel the sound is too bright.
The "Low Frequency" adjustment corrects the low-frequency response below 1kHz when the speakers are placed near walls or in other situations where excessive low-frequency response is present. The attenuation levels are -2dB, -4dB, and -6dB, and when both "Low Frequency" switches are turned on, the attenuation is -6dB. The factory settings for all tone adjustments are set to "OFF," allowing the speakers to achieve a flat frequency response in a free sound field when placed away from all walls and other acoustic reflective surfaces.
The "Subwoofer" adjustment allows attenuation of the lowest frequency range played by the speakers. The G Three has a -4dB attenuation setting for this purpose, which can be chosen if the speakers are placed in a corner or if the subwoofer output is excessive. When unpacking the speakers, each unit comes with a built-in amplifier and includes a signal cable, a power cable, and an operation manual. Place the speakers in the desired position, facing the central area where you will be listening. If possible, arrange the listening position along the room's center axis, maintaining equal distances between each speaker and the side walls.
