Meet Agains official introduction only stating that it used the same core structure as Orpheus and underwent a certain amount of simplification. However, the sound produced is completely different from the characteristics of Orpheus. It doesn't have the same impact on the ears, nor does it deliver the striking features in the low frequency and spatial aspects. Instead, it exhibits a very balanced "sense of energy". While it may seem soft, it also possesses adequate explosiveness, provided that the earphones themselves aren't soft and muffled. What amazed me the most was its low frequency and ultra-low frequency. Among all the cables discussed in this article, I believe Meet Agains has the best low frequency texture, with a deep and almost fully released ultra-low frequency. It also handles overtones very cleanly, with no sense of sluggishness. In the realm of computing, there is a term called "performance release", and although Meet Agains is not a cable known for its quality, the quality of its low frequency is 100% capable of releasing all the potential of an earphone. However, I say it is not impressive because there is no gain in the sense of quantity in the low frequency, and the imaging is also quite released. In this respect, it is more similar to the top-of-the-line WAN LUNG, but the low frequency of the WAN LUNG is slightly stronger and rounder.
The striking characteristic of Meet Agains lies in its nature of delivering a vinyl-like taste across the entirety of the frequency spectrum. It's interesting to note that it's challenging to pinpoint a specific frequency range that this influence is confined to, as it seems to permeate the entire sound profile. Consequently, it imparts a loose and granular sensation. Moreover, within the realm of instrumental reverberation, it introduces a unique fluffy edge processing, yet this doesn't compromise the cleanliness or imaging within the mix. Interestingly, even the vocals presented through Meet Agains don't provide an up-close and intimate impression. However, they do boast a captivating tonality. This distinct tonal quality brings to mind my recent experience with the FeliksAudio Envy tube amp in Poland. The tube amp, utilizing high-quality 300B tubes, delivers a sensation akin to a forceful and stable stone machine, alongside a plush, glossy tonality. In essence, Meet Agains exhibits the taste and resonance reminiscent of vinyl systems at times, while at other instances, it draws comparison to the flavor of a direct-fired tube amp; it offers a soft, glutinous, sweet, and mellow character. Notably, a detailed exploration of its various characteristics reveals scarce points of criticism.
In terms of quality, Meet Agains is quite comparable to FirstTimes and Orpheus across most attributes, yet its sound quality leans towards a chirpier and more exuberant style, lacking some prominent lines and impact. Its distinctive Tai Chi style may not suit everyone's preferences. While sharing subtle affinities with Eletech's Lora, Meet Agains displays a different tonal direction. It provides exceptional purity and extension, supported by comprehensive compatibility that retains an IEM original sound while introducing a layer of high-quality analog flavor. This aligns well with my preferences as a sound-quality enthusiast, blending quality and value to meet my personal needs.
