In terms of low frequency, there are some similarities between Beam and Beam 2, such as a sense of spaciousness. However, there are many differences as well. Beam 2 has a richer and deeper submergence, but the drum performance lacks the same intensity and clarity due to its richness. Although the vibration of the drum skin is still noticeable, the force of elasticity appears weaker. This characteristic of the sound foundation creates a significant distinction between Beam and Beam 2 in terms of tone. Beam has more low-frequency volume, but it sounds colder, resulting in a relatively clean and clear tone. On the other hand, Beam 2 has a more restrained low-frequency volume and a warmer and more layered tone. However, it fails to showcase its characteristics in drum sounds and has a stronger sense of ambiguity between drum notes. Nonetheless, it performs exceptionally well in pop music.

In terms of pop music, Beam 2 has a powerful and slightly submerged low-frequency cohesion. Although the elasticity is still relatively soft and the speed of expansion and contraction is slightly slower, Beam 2 excels in the delicate and layered changes in sound, as well as the significant variations in sound intensity. This brings out better musical imagery and allows for the perception of more subtle sounds. Beam 2 also has impressive analytical capabilities and significantly enhances the layering and instrument imaging in highly complex music compared to direct smartphone output ( Wagakki Band - Sasame Yuki). It opens up the entire soundstage and prevents overcrowding of the instruments' placement. However, it still falls short compared to professional players that cost over ten thousand yuan due to the limitations of power supply from the iPhone. As the complexity increases, the expression of smaller instrument sounds will be diminished, and the extension and breadth of the high frequencies will not be as vivid. Additionally, due to the need for stability in smartphone usage, the power supply cannot be fully optimized through firmware adjustments, which is somewhat regrettable. In fact, when the author received Beam 2 and connected it to a computer, it sounded absolutely amazing. The internal materials and quality of Beam 2 are excellent. If not for the power limitations, the sound performance would be worth twice the current selling price.

Furthermore, with the advantage of the 2.5mm balanced connection, the soundstage is much more open in all directions. In particular, the high frequencies have a sense of airiness (Vitas - Opera), and the vocals sound rounder, reducing the inherent coldness of the headphones and increasing smoothness. Although the tone may be slightly darker and lose some penetrating toxicity, the extension and delicacy, as well as the strong analytical capabilities, have brought the portable "mini" headphone amplifier for smartphones to a higher level once again.
