Again I’m a noob, so this won’t be very refined, but I think it sounds good. The aforementioned problems with the highs and bass on my Mezes were resolved really really well, making them much more comfortable and clear to listen to (I A/B’d them and there was a very noticeable difference). Soundstage was also definitely improved, with individual voices and instruments sounding more differentiated across a variety of genres and qualities. The detail also seemed to be improved. The Mezes themselves were already a big jump, but the beginnings and ends of individual sounds were much more detailed and noticeable with the atom.
User experience/glitches: there’s definitely some issues with glitchy interference sounds between some songs on some tracks. It’s very uncommon, but not rare. While listening to Sturgill Simpson’s “Cuttin Grass vol.1” there were some distorted sounds between several tracks. I’ve messed around with the lightning and aux to see if I could trigger it, but it didn’t seem to be coming from there. Also, it’s not happened during songs at any point, only between, and like I said, just shy of rarely. I’m unsure if this is something innate to listening at high volume on an iPhone, or if the atom is doing this, but when at higher volumes, if you’ve been paused and hit play, it’ll ‘roll on’, starting at a low volume and coming up to the volume you’re set at, which I have very much appreciated. This does not always work though lol. Sometimes if you’ve set the volume lower while paused, it’ll still play the first second at your previous volume, which can be very shocking and unpleasant.
