Upon disassembly, it became evident that the BEAM 3Plus is more than just a typical portable decoding product. It stands out with its unique design and advanced functionality. Equipped with a built-in battery and Bluetooth audio capabilities, it offers a wide range of features that enhance user convenience and open up new possibilities. The inclusion of valuable MQA decoding for streaming playback further broadens its utility, pushing the boundaries of sound quality. Presently, there are MQA encoded FLAC tracks available from 2L and Sony.
In addition to its impressive features, the BEAM 3Plus boasts an aesthetically pleasing appearance and is constructed using high-quality materials for both its exterior and internal circuitry. However, upon closer examination, it became apparent that the device lacks attention to detail in certain areas, akin to discovering a disorganized room in an otherwise elegant setting. During disassembly, it was noted that the glass cover of the BEAM 3Plus can be easily removed, which could metaphorically signify a willingness to reveal its inner workings, yet in practical terms, this design feature facilitates easy battery replacement.
On the other hand, accessing the shielded sections containing the DAC and headphone amplifier involves specific tools and advanced skills, and poses certain risks. Hence, it is advisable to exercise caution or avoid attempting this process without prior expertise.
