I've spent about 800 hours using the Tralucent 1 Plus 2 with a gold and silver alloy cable, paired with the Lotoo PAW Gold Touch. This setup creates a unique airy soundstage with excellent three-dimensional imaging and balanced armature driver coordination. Contrasting with the qdc Fusion quad-BA IEM I tried, the 1 Plus 2.3 offers a more atmospheric experience from the start.

Moving on to the Empire Ears Legend X, which also utilizes balanced armature driver, it shares a similar bass response but differs in tonal characteristics. The Legend X tends to have a thicker mid-low range and darker high frequencies, which improve over time with burn-in, unlike the 1 Plus 2.3, which emphasizes ambience and high-frequency performance upfront. Despite this difference, the Legend X shines in instrument detail and analytical capabilities due to its additional drivers. Both earphones feature dual balanced armature drivers for mids and highs from Knowles and a 10mm coaxial dynamic driver with a biofiber diaphragm for bass. Internally wired with OCC single-crystal copper, they incorporate a three-way crossover design, carbon fiber panels, and resin shells, utilizing metal components for sound transmission to minimize distortion.


With an impedance of 46 ohms and modest sensitivity, 1 Plus 2.3 demand a bit of power. Using the PAW Gold Touch 4.4 mm High Gain output, I discovered that volume levels within the range of 45-50 deliver ample sound pressure, akin to the SONY IER-Z1R, which also craves sufficient power. The mid-low frequency vocals exhibit a captivating allure, especially with female vocalists like Susan Wong, Olivia Ong, and Teresa Chen Jia. The soundstage and spatial perception are outstanding. However, if you seek brighter Japanese-style vocals with intricate details that feel closer to you, 1 Plus 2.3 might not be the ideal choice. Listening to Aimer's tracks presented excellent vocal presence, but there was a slight lack of detail in Ban'ya Shimai's songs.
