After switching to the No.10 cable, there have been three main positive enhancements:
Resolution: The background noise is blacker, for example, when listening to ACG Answer, I initially thought it was background hiss, but then I discovered it was the subtle accompaniment, very quiet. This has effectively resolved the issue with the CS4398 chip, which previously had virtually no resolution. Plus, this level of resolution is unlike the domestic type that shows every minute detail, which can be tiring and aggressively intrusive. It’s excellent.
Improved treble: On one hand, the rough edges are smoothed out, making the sound more pleasant to listen to; on the other hand, it feels like the treble has thickened slightly, so it doesn’t sound as cold or thin, and control has been enhanced.
The bass mainly feels more solid now; previously, it was a bit loose in terms of sound speed.
I omitted a point while writing: the high frequencies are a bit brighter, but not to a great extent. This might be because the original NF2u cable is silver-plated, so it’s already of good quality. The overall change in sound isn't earth-shattering; it's basically within 15%, and the original timbre of the device has been well-preserved. Therefore, I feel that the No.10 is probably not PW AUDIO's flagship level. A price that is double that of the No.5 should pose no problem.
